Respective State Level Recruitment Commissions of Govt. of Assam have released two employment notifications for the recruitment of 12600 Grade III & Grade IV Vacancy under different departments / establishments in Government of Assam. These vacancies will be filled up by the recruitment rules framed by the newly constituted Assam Direct Recruitment Commission for Analogous Posts in Class III and Class IV Act 2021 and Assam Direct Recruitment for Class III and Class IV Analogous Posts Rules 2022. A single written exam along with skill test or interview will be held for each category of posts and a merit list will be prepared accordingly for appointment.

Maximum Qualification: The maximum allowed educational qualification for Class-IV posts is HSSLC or class 12th or equivalent examination passed. Candidates having qualification higher than maximum qualification on the date of application are not eligible to apply for these vacancy.

  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree.


  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/ Diploma of minimum 6 months duration.


  • Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration and Stenography Certificate from recognized Institute.


  • Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration from a recognized Institute.

Grade III (Category II)
  • Name of posts: Grade -III (Category II) HSSLC Level

  • No of posts: 3,127 posts

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSSLC or class 12th or equivalent examinations. (Some specific posts need candidates to be class 12th passed from science stream.)




Grade III (Category III)
  • Name of post: Driver

  • No of posts: 418 posts

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent examination with valid LMV Driving Licence.




Other Criteria of Assam Direct Recruitment
  • Age Limit: The Candidate should not be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 1st January 2023.


  • Age Relaxation: The category wise upper age relaxation is as mentioned below.

OBC/MOBC - 3 years

SC/ST - 5 years

Ex-Servicemen - 2 years

PwBD - 10 years

  • Citizenship: Candidates must be a citizen of India.

  • Employment Exchange Registration: Candidates must have register their name in any one of the employment exchanges of Assam.

  • Relaxation in Computer Proficiency: Applicants possessing Degree in Computer Science, i.e. BCA/ MCA/ B.Tech/ B.E. and other are not required to furnish Computer Certificate/ Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration.


Application Fee of Assam Direct Recruitment

Unlike previous year, this year There will be no application fee for all the categories of candidates.

Candidates are not required to pay any application fee for submission of their online applications.

Selection Process of Assam Direct Recruitment

The detail selection process of ADRE 2023 has not been released. As per official notification, scheme of examination will be published at least one week before the conduct of written test. Hence, candidates are requested to check the last year's selection process for get a sample idea about the exam as described below.


Assam Direct Recruitment Commission will conduct separate competitive examinations for selection of candidates for different category of posts. Accordingly, commission will select candidates for recommendation on merit, in order of higher Grade Pay taking into consideration reservations for SC, ST, OBC and other categories.


The examinations shall be held separately on different dates so as to enable higher degree holders to appear in more than one examination.


Bachelor’s Degree Level (Category-I)

The commission will organize separate examination as per the following eligibility qualifications for the posts.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Skill.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Economics/ Statistics/ Mathematics.


Stage 1 (Written Exam)

The candidates applied for the graduate level posts will have to appear in a written test in the 1st phase of the recruitment process. The details of the written test is as mentioned below.

  • Type of exam: Written Examination

  • Mode of exam: Offline

  • Type of questions: Objective Multiple Choice Type Questions (MCQs)

  • Maximum marks: 175 Marks

  • Duration of exam: Three Hours (180 Minutes)

Stage 2 (Skill Test)

The candidates applied for the graduate level posts will have to appear following category of test as the second stage of the selection process.

Class 12th Level  (Category-I)

The commission will organize separate examination as per the following eligibility qualifications for the posts.

  • Higher Secondary of equivalent examination passed.

  • Higher Secondary of equivalent examination passed with computer skill.

Merit List

The preparation of merit list for appointment against various category of posts will be executed through following stages.

  • On the basis of the marks obtained in the written examination a list of all candidates shall be prepared in order of merit.

  • Additionally, minimum qualifying marks, of the marks obtained in the written examination, for General Candidates and Candidates belonging to the different reserved categories, shall be determined by the Commission to short list candidates, from the above list, to be called for Computer test/ other test/ practical test in a ratio to be decided by the Commission.

  • The Commission shall determine minimum qualifying marks for Computer test/ other test/ practical test.

  • Candidates securing less than the qualifying marks in the Computer test/ other test/ practical test shall not be eligible for selection.

  • The final merit list for Class III and IV posts shall be based on the total marks obtained in the written examination and Computer Test or Other Test or Interview.
